Our Objectives
To research, analyze and speak to the structural causes of social injustice locally and globally;
To provide policy alternatives to all levels of government that will address and redress matters of social, economic and political inequality in Newfoundland and Labrador;
To develop and provide public education on the links between global and local structural causes of poverty and increase awareness of the need for and the value of social justice in Newfoundland and Labrador and around the world;
To be an example of an active and engaged citizenry, initiating and supporting campaigns and activities that give voice to people and the environment that become the victims of social injustice;
To develop partnerships with other social justice groups and collaborate with them to achieve common social justice goals;
To provide educational/training services in social justice issues and any other relevant services to our partners and other interested parties;
To promote membership and active participation in the Social Justice Co-operative;
To create and maintain a physical symbol and focal point for social justice activities in Newfoundland and Labrador; to engage in any and all activities that will enable the Co-operative to achieve its general mandate and objectives
